SIDNEY – Cade Lewis’ parents never had to remind him about the importance of getting good grades.

“I’m a competitor, even when it comes to grades,” he said. “I always want to get the best grades I can.”

One of Lewis’ goals coming out of middle school was to maintain a 4.0 grade-point average throughout his career at Sidney High School. He almost accomplished that, earning A’s in every class except one – a B that he received this past school year, his final one at Sidney High School.

“That was kind of disappointing,” he said. “I really wanted to finish my high school career with all A’s. I did my best, though, so I’m happy with that.”

One reason Lewis has been so passionate about earning high grades is that he wanted to put himself in position to attend a prestigious college. For the last four or five years, he’s had his sights set on attending an Ivy League school on the East Coast.
