Barbara Grant, of Scottsbluff, has been named Nspire Today!’s Hometown Hero of the Week, sponsored by Schank Roofing in Scottsbluff.
Grant is in her second year working as a LPN at The Residency Care Center in Scottsbluff. Altogether, Grant has been a nurse for 35 years, including 18 in Scottsbluff.
Grant, who graduated from Gering High School in 1973, plans to retire on Oct. 31. She said she’s enjoyed all the years she’s been a nurse.
“I’ve loved it,” she said. “I love people, and I’ve loved working with the other employees. I also like that management has been very accommodating.”
After she retires, Grant said she plans to spend a lot of time quilting, crocheting, and doing needle work.
