BAYARD – Traeton Harimon, a senior at Bayard High School, has been named First State Bank’s Male Student of the Month for September. He participates in football, golf, National Honor Society, FFA, and One Acts. He has a 4.0 GPA. His mom is Erin Harimon.

Q: Among the activities that you participate in, which one do you enjoy the most?

HARIMON: “Football, for sure. I’ve always loved football. I love being part of the team. I think it’s a great sport for anybody to do.”

Q: What is your favorite non-sports activity?

HARIMON: “Probably One Acts. We have a lot of fun doing One Acts. I’ve been involved in that for three years.”

Q: Talk about how important grades are to you, and how special is it being part of National Honor Society.

HARIMON: “Grades are definitely the most important part of school for me. They definitely take more importance over any activity. Being in NHS is really important to me.”

Q: Because of how busy you are, is it a challenge sometimes to keep your grades really high?

HARIMON: “There are times when it’s hard to balance the workload. It can get overwhelming sometimes, but I find a way to figure it out and manage my time well.”
