BRIDGEPORT – Cade Loomis, a senior at Bridgeport High School, has been named Nspire Today!’s Male Student of the Month for October, sponsored by 16th Empire Restaurant in Scottsbluff. Loomis is involved in National Honor Society, FFA, 4-H, TeamMates Mentoring, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, football, and basketball. He has a 3.9 GPA. He’s been accepted into the John Deere Tech Program at Milford. He wants to major in diesel technology in college. His parents are Naomi and Fred Loomis. For being named a student of the month, Loomis will receive a gift certificate for a free meal at 16th Empire Restaurant.
Q: What is your favorite non-sports activity at school?
LOOMIS: “FFA. I like the opportunity to meet people who are like me.”
Q: How important is getting excellent grades to you?
LOOMIS: “It’s really important to me. To me, grades come first before anything else.”
Q: Is it hard to juggle keeping your grades high with participating in several activities?
LOOMIS: “Sometimes it’s a challenge, but most of the time, it’s not too bad.”
Q: You’ve been accepted into the John Deere Tech Program at Milford. How exciting is that opportunity for you?
LOOMIS: “I’m really excited about it. I think it’s a great opportunity for me. It kind of came about recently. Only so many applicants are accepted each year. I found out recently I was accepted. I was really hoping I would get in.”
