BRIDGEPORT – Tacey From, a senior at Bridgeport High School, has been named Nspire Today!’s Female Athlete of the Month for February. She competes in basketball, rodeo and volleyball. In basketball, she’s a four-year starter at shooting guard. As of Feb. 10, she was averaging 17.4 points, 6.1 rebounds, 7.3 steals, and 2.8 assists per game. Following last season, she was named to the WTC and SPVA all-conference teams. In volleyball, she competed in that sport for the first time last fall, and her performance led to her being named to the WTC and SPVA all-conference teams. She’s also a talented rodeo athlete, participating in team roping, breakaway, barrel racing, and pole bending. Going into the high school spring season, which starts in April, she’s tied for first in the state standings in team roping. Her roping partner is James Drueke of O’Neill. Also, she’s fourth in breakaway, third in pole bending, and 16th in barrel racing. Tacey, who’s been competing in rodeo for 11 years, had a good showing at state last year, placing fifth in team roping, 16th in breakaway, and 17th in pole bending. Tacey is also a standout academically. She has a 3.714 GPA and is in her second year in National Honor Society. The other school activity she participates in is B-Club. Outside of school, she’s part of the youth group at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Bridgeport. After high school, she plans to go to college to play basketball and pursue a degree in dental hygiene. Her parents are Tagg and Jayme From.
