SCOTTSBLUFF – Brock Schank is the vice president of Schank Roofing of Scottsbluff. Schank Roofing, which specializes in roof, gutter and siding repair and replacement, has been in business for 16 years. Rich Schank, president of Schank Roofing, has been involved in the roofing business for nearly 40 years. Brock, who attended Community Christian School in Scottsbluff through seventh grade before being homeschooled, graduated from high school in 2010. He started working for his dad at Schank Roofing when he was in seventh grade. Brock and his wife, Shana, have a son, Carter, who will be a seventh-grader at Bluffs Middle School this fall.
Q: Talk about why you decided to pursue a career in roofing, just like your dad did.
BROCK: “When I was little, I didn’t play sports or do other school activities, so my dad was always my best friend, and I always wanted to be just like him. So, I decided at a pretty young age that this is what I wanted to do. It was fun to me, and I still enjoy it. I couldn’t imagine doing anything else.”
