Scott Peterson and his wife, Betsy, have lived their lives following God’s leading, even when it took them from their comfortable hobby farm in Minnesota to the plains of western Nebraska to open up a Christian radio station – a venture neither of them knew how to accomplish. Now, 45 years later, KCMI 97.1 FM is still on the air – a testament to God’s omniscience and omnipotence.

When Scott Peterson was ten years old, he knew God would be calling him to western Nebraska at some point during his life.
“I’ve always had a consciousness about God. He called me to the ministry when I was eight years old,” said Peterson. “I didn’t realize it at the time, but I came to understand that the Lord spoke to me at ten years old as my family travelled through Nebraska. From the backseat of our car, as we were passing through the Panhandle, I looked out the window and said, ‘I’m going to live out here someday.’ Those words turned out to be prophetic!”
Eventually, Peterson and his wife, Betsy, decided that their time in western Nebraska was something they should document for posterity, so they wrote the book “Destiny’s Call.”
“We moved away from Nebraska to California when our children were young. Three of our children were born in California and had no idea what our life in Nebraska was all about. Our grandchildren seemed even more removed from the story of our early life,” said Peterson. “So we thought we should write down how God spoke to us and the miracle of KCMI for their benefit. But we soon discovered our testimony might be beneficial to a larger audience, so we decided to publish it.”
