Diana Heupel Benefit set for Saturday at Alliance Eagles Club

The Diana Heupel Benefit is Saturday, March 30, from 5 p.m. to midnight at the Alliance Eagles Club. Dinner and a silent auction will run from 5-7 p.m.; a live auction will start at 7:30 p.m.; and there will be music by Crossbell from 9 p.m. to midnight. There will be a freewill donation for supper.

Heupel has been a resident of Alliance since 1998. She raised her three children – Jenn, Ryan, and Trevor – while attending to the needs of others as a nurse. She has also helped orchestrate several benefits to help others in the Alliance community.

On Nov. 16, 2018, Heupel was diagnosed with lung cancer. Since that day, she has undergone several tests, biopsies, and ultimately had her entire right lung removed at UCH on Jan. 11. She is recovering well at home and will begin her journey with chemotherapy over the next 12 weeks. She is hoping to return to work sooner than later, but in the meantime, the money raised will help her cover medical expenses, insurance premiums, and living costs.

For those who cannot attend the fundraiser, money can be donated to the “Diana Heupel Medical Fund” at Consumers Cooperative Federal Credit Union in Alliance.
