Thursday, June 17th the City of Scottsbluff held an Employee Recognition Breakfast for all employees.
The annual event, which wasn’t held last year due to COVID-19, is a time to recognize and honor employees for their years of service, as well as naming the recipient of the Donald Overman Excellence in Public Service Award.
Created by former Mayor Don Overman, this award is given to a city employee who has been nominated by citizens, other employees or supervisors. It is awarded for an employee’s actions or activities that go above and beyond their normal duties, or have made a major positive impact on the community that best demonstrates their high commitment to public service over the previous year.
2020 brought formidable challenges at all levels of city services. Because city staff demonstrated such tremendous creativity and commitment every time a problem presented itself due to the pandemic, this year the Donald Overman Excellence in Public Service Award was dedicated to each and every city employee. The City was able to provide continuity of service and support to our community during these unprecedented times due to the strength and passion of all employees. The Mayor, Council and City Manager would like to congratulate them for adaptability and continued efforts towards maintaining services. Thank you City Staff.
