Bayard High School junior Candace Wolfe has received a Citizenship Award in Bayard each of the last three years. However, that’s not the reason Wolfe does everything she can to uplift people and promote kindness and unity both in school and around her community.

BAYARD – As a Bayard High School cheerleader, Candace Wolfe does her best to help uplift the athletes and rev up the crowd.
She also loves spreading positivity and making people feel special, something that doesn’t end when she’s not in her cheerleading uniform.
“That’s what I like doing more than anything else – being kind and encouraging to other people whether it’s at school or in the community,” said Wolfe, who’s a junior at BHS. “I love to see people smile, and if someone isn’t smiling, then I try to think of what I could do to help put a smile on that person’s face.”
Wolfe’s kind and caring attitude hasn’t gone unnoticed. In fact, she’s received a Citizenship Award in Bayard her eighth-, ninth-, and 10th-grade years.
Winning awards, however, is hardly the reason Wolfe has made it her daily mission to encourage and promote positivity. She just enjoys brightening other people’s day.
“You never know what someone else is going through, so if I can say something or do something to make a positive difference, that’s what I want to do,” she said.
