Cade Rowlee, a 5-year-old boy from Scottsbluff, was diagnosed with hepatoblastoma, a rare type of liver cancer in children, when he was 2. Rowlee is in remission now, and he and his family are celebrating every moment they have together. One of their special moments came in mid-December, when the Team Ashtyn Foundation organized an all-expense paid trip to Colorado for the Rowlee family. That memorable adventure included making a stop to see an amazing train display in Kimball, followed by making Cade’s biggest wish come true – riding the Santa Express Train by the Royal Gorge.

SCOTTSBLUFF – Cade Rowlee of Scottsbluff smiles often, likes to laugh and joke around, and has the energy of a typical 5-year-old boy.
“You would not know he’s been sick at any point in his life,” said his mother, Katie Rowlee.
Fortunately, for about the last year, Cade has felt fine. Before that, though, he went through a couple rough years while he battled a rare type of liver cancer in children called hepatoblastoma.
Katie and her husband, Chris, found out Cade had a cancerous tumor on his liver when he was only 2 years old.
