MORRILL – For Terry Lofink, reaching 250 career coaching wins is more than just a milestone – it’s a testament to years of dedication, resilience, and a commitment to building something meaningful. The long-time coach at Morrill High School has spent his career shaping young athletes, often taking over struggling programs and instilling a culture of hard work and perseverance. This past season, his team tied the school record for most wins in a single season, a feat that underscores the transformation he has helped bring to the program.
When reflecting on what 250 victories mean to him, Lofink’s first response is gratitude.
“I’m just grateful, really humbled by it,” he says. “I’ve never been one to step into a program that was already built. I’ve always been the guy who has to build it up, create the culture, set the expectations.”
That sentiment rings true when looking at Lofink’s coaching career. From Lingle to Yuma, and now at Morrill, he has taken on the challenge of turning struggling teams into competitive forces.
“It’s harder to reach milestones when you’re building from the ground up,” he acknowledges. “But at the end of the day, it’s about the kids. I’ve been fortunate to coach so many great kids.”
