BAYARD – In the heart of Bayard, where familiar faces and a friendly nod are part of the daily rhythm, Brendal’s Restaurant stands out as a warm refuge – a place where every dish and every greeting is served with genuine care. Owner Brenda Krantz, affectionately known to locals simply as “Brenda” or even “Cooter” (a nickname earned back in her high school days), has created a restaurant that is as much about community spirit as it is about a great meal.

Rising from the Ashes

Brenda’s journey in the restaurant business began with both passion and perseverance. Her first venture opened its doors in 2008 on Fourth Street behind the Vault, but in January 2012, a devastating fire forced her to start over.

“After my original restaurant burned down, I knew I had to create something new – something that wasn’t just about food, but about the people of Bayard,” Brenda recalls.
