Delaney Pohl, a sophomore at Bridgeport High School, decided to be involved in choir three years ago, and she’s glad she did because she discovered she’s pretty good at it. Her vocal talent earned her spots on two honor choirs as a freshman, and she also excelled at the district music contest last spring. Pohl, who also sings the national anthem often at school events, says she’s eager to keep improving as a singer – not only to increase her chances of making the all-state choir but also so she can try to bring even more joy to people through her vocal abilities.

BRIDGEPORT – Delaney Pohl has always loved to sing, but she didn’t start thinking about being part of a choir until her seventh-grade year, when she attended some vocal performances that her friends were in.
“I saw how cool it looked and how much fun they were having,” said Pohl, a sophomore at Bridgeport High School this year. “I thought it was something I would like to be a part of, too.”
So, the following year, Pohl joined the choir in Bridgeport. She wasn’t nervous about it, for she knew she would be one of several students singing together on stage. However, that year in the Old West Choir Fest at Scottsbluff High School, she found herself singing on stage – by herself.
