GERING – This year’s cross country season is shaping up to be another special one for Gering High School’s Maddie Seiler.
The senior has continued to work hard and achieve impressive times and placings – in spite of breaking her ankle the summer after her sophomore year.
“I learned how much I loved cross country after I got hurt,” Seiler said. “I didn’t realize how much I would miss it. In the moment while you’re going on runs it’s like, ‘Wow, I hate this.’ It’s hot and sweaty and makes you want to die. My sport is used as punishment for other sports teams. But I want to take advantage of the ability that God has given me – the ability to run and do it well.”
