FEATURE: Gering woman turns products she made to help her and her 3 boys control a skin condition into a successful business

Sydni Closson of Gering started making her own goat milk soap and laundry detergent a few years ago to help control a skin condition called Eczema that she and her three, young boys have. She had no intention of trying to make money from those items, but thanks to encouragement from her friends and family, she eventually decided to form a home-based business to sell her soaps and detergent. They sold so well that she decided to add to her business, which she named 3 Dirty Boys, by making and selling other items, such as lip balm, beard balm, and a variety of soy candles and wax melts – all of which have become hot sellers, too.

GERING – Every so often growing up, Sydni Closson of Gering would develop irritating, dry, red rashes on her body.

Sometimes they would be caused by something she ate. Other times they would stem from cold weather or something her skin came into contact with.

“It was uncomfortable and annoying,” she said.
