Paige Manning of Scottsbluff grew up with a love for working in the garden and the yard, and that passion led to her doing some exciting horticulture work in Ireland, Yellowstone National Park, and even Alaska. She eventually even started her own outdoor maintenance business, Paige’s Posies. After operating her business in Alaska for about six years, she returned to Scottsbluff in 2017, where she’s continued to operate her business successfully. The 50-year-old Manning said she loves using her skills and knowledge to brighten up people’s outdoor areas, and she also loves that her business allows her to fulfill her other passion in life – traveling around the country during the winters to explore some of the nation’s coolest sites.

SCOTTSBLUFF – During the spring and summer, Paige Manning of Scottsbluff likes to follow a similar routine: wake up early in the morning, down a half a pot of coffee, spend a little time with the love of her life – her dog, an English golden retriever named Charlie – and then gather the equipment she needs before heading out the door to start her work day at 4 or 5 in the morning.
Manning, 50, is in her 10th year of owning her own business, a gardening and landscaping maintenance service called Paige’s Posies.
“I can work anywhere from a normal eight-hour day to a 14-hour day,” Manning said.
To her, though, it really doesn’t matter how many hours she “works” in a day.
“I’ve always believed the old adage that you gotta love what you do or you’re going to be miserable in life,” she said. “For me, I love what I get to do every day, so it doesn’t really seem like work to me.”
