When Bob and Mary Kraft of Gering found out their baby, David, was born with Down syndrome, they were devastated. However, they turned to God for guidance in raising David, and they say God has never let them down. Over the last 31 years, Bob and Mary say they haven’t looked at raising David as a burden but as a blessing because of the way he’s impacted their lives and so many others in a positive way.

GERING – Bob and Mary Kraft had been married for 13 years before their son, David, came along. His birth – on May 7, 1991 – came with unforeseen complications, but his life has brought about immeasurable blessings.
“The doctor told us at that time that there was an eighty-five percent chance that our baby had Down Syndrome,” Bob Kraft said. “That hit us both really hard, and I just lost it. All I knew about Down Syndrome at the time was that it was challenging.”
Bob was devastated, but he said God was about to step in.
“I was on the edge of the bed just sobbing, and the Holy Spirit met me at that moment,” said Bob.
