Amy Birkhofer, a senior at Kimball High School, started singing when she was little, and she’s continued to improve as a musician since then. Because of her talented voice, she was selected to sing at a high school state event, and she’s won several awards for her vocal music at district contests. Birkhofer hopes this school year is her most memorable one yet in vocal music, and although she doesn’t plan to pursue singing as a career, she says she’ll always continue to sing, for she loves how it makes her feel.

KIMBALL – Amy Birkhofer of Kimball remembers the first time she sang the national anthem in front of a crowd. It was during one of Kimball High School’s home football games her sophomore year. She was prepared – but also full of jitters.
“I was nervous when I went out there to sing,” she said. “I just took a deep breath and tried to remain calm.”
