FEATURE: Making fond memories on the ice

Kelsey Walker of Morrill grew up going ice fishing, but she wasn’t that fond of it until she was 16, when she began dating Ethan Walker, who loved ice fishing. The two went on several ice fishing trips together, and they even got engaged while fishing on the ice. Since then, they’ve continued to enjoy lots of fun, exciting ice fishing adventures in the region.

MORRILL – Kelsey Walker of Morrill can be forgiven for not remembering the first time she went ice fishing. She was only two months old.

“She had me on the ice as an infant because that’s something my family has always done,” she said.

As she got older, Walker continued to be part of her family’s ice fishing trips. She didn’t always love it, though.

“Especially when I got to be elementary school age. It was cold and boring,” she said. “There weren’t always a lot of other kids on the ice.”
