Lauren Starke of Hemingford received heartbreaking news in early April when she learned she has B-cell MALT lymphoma. Although the 26-year-old Scottsbluff High School graduate has faced challenges both mentally and physically while battling cancer, she said she’s been getting through the tough times thanks to the strong support she’s been receiving from family, friends, co-workers, health care professionals, and God.

HEMINGFORD – Lauren (Miller) Starke of Hemingford woke up one morning in mid-February and began washing her face. She noticed a small, red bump on her left cheek near her ear.
Not a big deal, she thought. It was probably just a pimple.
“I figured it would go away soon,” she said.
