Natalie Laws, 20, and Gavin De Los Santos, 18, met while they were both attending Gering High School. They fell in love quickly after they started dating, and they got engaged this past New Year’s Eve. Now, they’re looking forward to getting married July 27 and spending the rest of their lives together.

GERING – Natalie Laws and Gavin De Los Santos both grew up in Gering, and both attended Gering High School around the same time. But it wasn’t until Natalie’s sophomore year at GHS, when Gavin was a freshman, that they first started to get to know each other.
What made their paths cross was that they both were involved in the arts at school, including show choir and musical. Both recall making their first connection in 2021 – Natalie’s sophomore year and Gavin’s freshman year – when they both had roles in the high school musical, “The Wizard of Oz.”
“Gavin was called ‘General Winkie,’ which was a funny character, and I remember him playing that character really well,” Natalie said. “As for me, I was in the chorus. I was a jitterbug, so I did lots of dancing and singing.”
Natalie and Gavin recalled their first impressions of each other.
