Jessica Klassen has always loved creating a variety of artwork, and she’s been really good at it, too. She even recently started using her impressive art skills to make and sell cool-looking, wide-brimmed hats. However, what brings Klassen the most joy is being able to share her passion and knowledge of art with the students she teaches at Bayard Public Schools.

BAYARD – When Jessica (Scott) Klassen thinks back to her childhood years, one memory sticks out in particular – all the drawing and coloring she did.
“That was my favorite way of entertaining myself,” said Klassen, of Gering, who’s 32 now. “My mom and dad had a harvest crew, and when I would spend time with my mom in the tractor, I would sit on the floor with a coloring book or a book I could draw in. That’s just what I’ve always loved to do ever since I was big enough to hold a paint brush.”
