FEATURE: ‘Without a doubt, this fills my heart’

Maggie Fulstone Feltgen loved the five years she taught elementary school students in Scottsbluff. However, she felt like she needed to step away from teaching in order to help take care of her mom, who had become ill, more often at her home. That led to Feltgen eventually starting her own home care business, Helping Hands Stay at Home Care, which has grown steadily since it started in 2017. The 36-year-old Feltgen said she loves running her own successful business, but more importantly, she loves helping people who need assistance at their home.

SCOTTSBLUFF – When Maggie Fulstone Feltgen decided to become a school teacher, she knew exactly what she was getting herself into.

Working in education, after all, runs deep in her family. She had a grandmother, grandfather, and aunt who all taught, and her sister teaches, too. Her mom, Kathi Martin of Scottsbluff, was involved in education as well, working as a high school secretary at one point.

“All of them enjoyed it, and I thought I really would, too,” Feltgen said.
