LYMAN – For 16 years, Kaye Anderstrom of Lyman worked remotely for a company out of Denver.

“I got to work out of my house, so that was really nice,” she said.

But one day in October 2016, Anderstrom received some bad news from her company. She was getting laid off.

“I immediately started thinking about what else I could do,” she said.

She and her husband, Jay, who have been farming and ranching near Lyman since 2001, began brainstorming ways they could diversify their farm a bit in order to bring in more income.

One of their ideas was to build a greenhouse so they could grow and sell fresh vegetables throughout the year.

“We did a lot of research on it, and we finally decided, ‘OK, we’ll try it and see how it goes,” Kaye said.
