OK, while the headline above is accurate, it’s important to point out that Nspire Today! isn’t gaining subscribers across the entire United States by leaps and bounds. Not even close.
However, it has been pretty cool – and interesting – to see the number of Nspire Today! subscribers climbing outside our region.
Just in the last two weeks, for example, we’ve signed people up for a one-year subscription who live in the following cities – Lincoln; Roseburg, Oregon; Gardnerville, Nevada; San Jose, California; Richmond, California; and Mankato, Minnesota.
When Nspire Today! launched in March 2019, we hoped our list of subscribers would grow quickly and consistently, but we really didn’t think about attracting subscribers – or at least too many of them – from outside the Nebraska Panhandle and Goshen County in Wyoming. That area, after all, is where we focus our coverage.
While we’ve grown our readership substantially in the WyoBraska region over the years, it’s been neat to see the publication get mailed out to many cities outside of our region. We actually have a decent number of subscribers in central and eastern Nebraska as well as places in Wyoming outside of Goshen County. We also have quite a few from Colorado.
A number of other states have also been represented on our subscriber list, including Arizona, Nevada, Washington, Missouri, Alabama, North Carolina, New Mexico, Texas, Kansas, Minnesota, California, Iowa, Oregon, Utah, Louisiana, Wisconsin, and Montana.
Since our magazines focuses on content here in the WyoBraska region, why would people from other states be interested in subscribing to Nspire Today! magazine? There’s different reasons for this, of course, and one of them is that we’ve had some subscribers who have moved from the WyoBraska region to a location outside of our area, but they’ve wanted to continue receiving Nspire Today! We’ve also had some out-of-area people, who have friends and/or relatives in our area, sign up for a subscription. There’s other reasons, too, of course.
Probably the out-of-area subscribers who stand out most in my mind are a husband and wife from Alabama who are truck drivers. They were passing through the WyoBraska region one day and stopped at a place where they saw a copy of Nspire Today! magazine. They were intrigued with it, so they bought a copy, and the wife looked forward to having something to read while they continued their journey down the road. After going through the magazine, they decided they wanted to subscribe to it, even though they didn’t know any of the people or places in that month’s issue. The reason, they said, is that they loved the inspiring stories and other fun content in the publication. So, as they were heading south on an interstate toward their home in Alabama, the wife called me and paid for a subscription using a credit card. We talked briefly, and before hanging up, she thanked our team for creating a magazine that’s uplifting, even for people like her and her husband who live several states away. She added that it was the coolest, local magazine they had ever run across on their travels through the United States. That made me feel good, hearing that kind of comment from someone living outside of our area who doesn’t have any connections here.
Anyway, whether it’s someone who lives in the WyoBraska region or someone who lives outside the area – even many states away – we appreciate all of our subscribers!
