Jerry Schledewitz of Minatare, an LRC Technologist at UNMC, is no stranger to the ups and downs of life, but through it all, he has learned of God’s love and grace for him and for the rest of humanity.

MINATARE – Jerry Schledewitz of Minatare accepted Jesus as his Savior when he was around 16 years old and attending a Lundstrom Crusade.
“I always went to church with my family growing up, but salvation didn’t come to me until I was about 16 or 17,” Schledewitz said. “It was at the Lundstrom Crusade. I could feel the presence of the Holy Spirit there. He was showing me the things I should change and how I really needed Him.”
Unfortunately, change doesn’t come easily, and he struggled to find a good support system.
“There’s no support for youth that age, so it doesn’t always go well,” Schledewitz said. “If your friends don’t experience the same as you do, they don’t understand. When you get saved at a young age, it can feel like you’re on an island by yourself.”
