KIMBALL – When Amber Sweetland was 13, bored in her grandmother’s living room and whining about it, she didn’t get a gentle suggestion to pick up a book. She got hit in the head with one.
“My grandmother was an avid reader and a journalist, and I was complaining that I was bored,” Amber recalled with a laugh. “She literally threw a book at my head and said, ‘If you’re bored, read.’ So I did — and I haven’t stopped since.”
