  • Benefit Dance and Silent Auction at Oregon Trail Roadhouse in Gering, 6 p.m.; Logo De Esperanza through Christ for the City International is raising money to help support a missions trip July 8-17th in El Salvador, Central America! Cover fee is $5. There will be dancing, raffles, silent auction and more!
  • Fort Market & Anniversary Celebration at Fort Robinson State Park; Fort Robinson State Park welcomes back its annual Fort Market, offering a variety of vendors. The day-long event will also serve as the Fort’s celebration of the Nebraska Game & Park’s 100th anniversary and the park’s 50th anniversary, so come join the fun and fill all of your shopping desires.
  • Crawford Mud Truck Races at Above the Crawford Rodeo Grounds; Combine horsepower and mud and you’ve got plenty of fun at the Crawford Mud Truck Races! Planned for June 5, June 26 and Aug. 28 this year, the races will take place above the Crawford Rodeo Grounds. Admission is $5 for spectators. Interested drivers (ages 18 and up) can enter for $30 per race. Classes include Mega Truck, Modified, Super Stock, Rancher and Powder Puff. There will also be Kids Power Wheels Races!
  • Family Sip & Paint at Wilson Park in Chadron, 5-7:30 p.m.; Spend some time in the park with friends, non-alcoholic beverages and canvas! This Family Sip & Paint, sponsored by Ta-Da Art Studio, will benefit Chadron Art Alley. Create a beautiful masterpiece with your family and help add more murals to Art Alley.   • Cowboy Culture Night at Rocky Top Dance Hall, 5:30 p.m.; A night of Cowboy Poetry, Music and Food! Cowboy Culture Night will feature the Ramblin’ Rangers, Yvonne Hollenbeck and Robert Dennis, along with local opening acts. Free will donations will be accepted to benefit the Harrison Community Club.

  • Kids First Summer Carnival & First United Methodist Church Block Party, 3:30-8:30 p.m. at 2002 4th Avenue in Scottsbluff; family games, watermelon eating contest, water slide, food, fellowship; free will donations encouraged to help Kids First raise funds for new highchairs and nap mats
  • Theatre West Garden Walk Twilight Tour; 4-8 p.m.; A ticket includes a map with descriptions of this year’s creative and beautiful gardens. Participants go on a self-guided tour to see gardens of flowers, trees, shrubs, and water features. Tickets are $15 when purchased before the event, and $18 at a garden site. Thursday, July 1

  • Bands on Broadway on the 18th Plaza in downtown Scottsbluff; 6-9 p.m.; performances are by High Horses and The Victory Underground; many businesses in downtown Scottsbluff will be open on this day until 6 p.m.
  • New exhibit starts at West Nebraska Arts Center in Scottsbluff, “Resilience – The President’s Show,” exhibit runs from July 1 to Aug. 1
  • Free summer movie “Happy Feet,” 1:30 p.m. at The Midwest Theater in downtown Scottsbluff, for more information, go to midwesttheater.com.
