Furry friends bring lots of happiness to Gering family

Amanda Biberos, a 2002 Gering High School graduate, grew up around animals on the farm and has always had a love for pets, whether it be hamsters, snakes, goldfish, cats or dogs. She and her husband and their two kids now have two dogs and three cats, and Amanda said the joy that the pets bring to their family is amazing.

GERING – As a little kid, Amanda Biberos of Gering loved spending time around the horses, cows, chickens and other animals on her family’s farm.

She grew quite attached to them, caring for them like they were her friends.

“I always thought it was cool when the cows would start coming toward you when they realized you were going to feed them,” she said. “They enjoyed seeing me, and I enjoyed seeing them.”

It wasn’t just farm animals, though, that Biberos was interested in.

“When I was younger, I was planning to have tigers in my yard, too,” she said with a laugh.
