HEMINGFORD – Tayson Ernesti, a senior at Hemingford High School, has been named First State Bank’s Male Student of the Month for August. He’s involved in National Honor Society, wrestling, track and field, and choir. His parents are Paul and Kristin Yale.
Q: How excited are you about your senior year at Hemingford High School?
ERNESTI: “I’m excited about it, but I’m also blown away by the fact that it’s already here.”
Q: Talk about how your high school career has gone up to this point?
ERNESTI: “It’s gone pretty well. I’ve been working hard to maintain good grades, and I’m trying to help set an example for other students and for my younger siblings. I also try to stay involved with things outside of school, like youth group or sports. It’s good to be involved.”
Q: What are the top highlights of your high school career so far?
ERNESTI: “In wrestling, my top highlight was making it all the way to the heartbreak round last season at 106. Also, being ranked fourth out of 35 in my class is another big deal to me.”
Q: Out of the activities that you participate in, which one is your favorite?
ERNESTI: “I would have to say wrestling is my favorite just because you get so close with your teammates and it becomes like a family. Also, the coaches are more than just coaches. They’re coaches in life as well, so if you’re having a rough day, they’ll come and talk to you to help you get focused so you can work as hard as you can.”
