‘I feel very blessed that I’m still here today’

Bree Lovell, a 17-year-old girl from Rushville, was diagnosed with a rare type of cancer when she was only 10 years old. She suffered through multiple surgeries and rounds of chemotherapy, but she ended up beating cancer. She said battling cancer changed her in many positive ways, for she no longer worries about small things, she maintains a positive attitude even through tough times, and she appreciates the people in her life even more now.

RUSHVILLE – Bree Lovell is grateful she gets to compete in volleyball, basketball, and track and field for Gordon-Rushville High School. She’s also happy she has an opportunity to participate in other fun activities, like One Acts, the spring play, choir, and National Honor Society.

What she cherishes the most, however, is spending time around the people she loves, like her twin sister, Kee, their parents, Steph and Ryan, and other relatives and friends.

The 17-year-old Bree has always known how special life is. But that became even more clear to her after battling a rare type of cancer about six years ago.
