Jacob Stone, a 30-year-old Gordon native who now lives in Alliance, spent nearly half of his life suffering from the horrific consequences of drinking alcohol heavily and using a variety of drugs. However, he finally decided to turn his life completely around in 2017, seeking treatment for his alcohol and drug addiction, and he recently celebrated two years of being sober and drug free.

ALLIANCE – Through elementary school and middle school, Jacob Stone stayed out of trouble, got decent grades, played sports, and often helped his parents at the store they owned in Gordon.
He wasn’t unhappy or depressed, but as he was entering high school, he did desire to fit in a little better among his peers. Therefore, when he had a chance to start hanging out with a few older kids, he jumped at the opportunity.
“I was trying to be cool,” he said.
