TORRINGTON, Wyo. – Every once in awhile, a curious child at Lincoln Elementary School in Torrington will walk up to head custodian Henry Magdaleno with a question about the school building.

“They want to know if I built it,” Magdaleno said, smiling. “Some of them think I built it from the ground up.”

Magdaleno didn’t build the school, but he’s certainly built a lot of the things inside and outside of the school.

In fact, during his five years at Lincoln Elementary School, Magdaleno estimates that he’s completed 60 to 70 projects at the school, including ball carts, bookshelves, desks, fences, and even decorative items, such as a clock made out of a tire that hangs on the wall near the building’s entrance.
