‘I love that every day I get to help make a difference in someone’s life’

An anatomy and physiology class at Bridgeport High School sparked Randi Stichka’s interest in pursuing a career in radiology. She landed her first job as a radiologic technologist at Morrill County Community Hospital in 2007, and five years later she became the Director of Radiology at MCCH, a position she still holds today. Stichka said she loves working in the radiology department, especially since she gets to fulfill her passion of helping people in the community she grew up in.

BRIDGEPORT – During her first two years at Bridgeport High School, Randi Stichka had plans to pursue a career either as a teacher or a nurse.

She changed her mind, however, one day her junior year in her Anatomy and Physiology class.

“I saw my first X-ray, and I was fascinated with the bones and everything else I was seeing,” she said. “We looked at some fractures, and it was interesting to see what the inside of the body looked like and what we could decipher by looking at the X-ray.”

From that point forward, Stichka set her sights on becoming a radiologic technologist.
