‘I’m truly, truly blessed with where I’m at now’

Becca Jackson of Gering lost her father when she was 3 months old, and she was sexually abused from age 9 to 13. That led to her becoming addicted to alcohol and other drugs for years, and she was even involved in a motorcycle crash three years ago while traveling 70 miles per hour. The 25-year-old Jackson, however, has overcome all of that horror and adversity, and she feels blessed now because she’s been drug free for three and a half years, she’s happily married with four step (bonus) babies and is expecting her first child, and she has a job that she likes in a community she loves. She’s also happy that she can use all the negative experiences she’s had to help other people who have been abused or who have an alcohol/drug addiction.

GERING – Becca (Daniell) Jackson of Gering is happily married, she and her husband are thrilled to be expecting their first child together in February, she has four stepchildren that she loves, and she enjoys her job as an operations clerk at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff.

To be sure, Jackson couldn’t be happier right now.

“I’m truly in awe of how my life has turned around,” the 25-year-old Jackson said.

Indeed. It wasn’t too long ago, after all, when Jackson wondered if she would even make it past her teenage years, much less be a wife and mother who was able to wake up with a smile on her face.

To say Jackson had a difficult upbringing would be a drastic understatement. Losing her father just before she turned 3 months old was tragic. But what happened after that was just as heartbreaking, horrible, and unbelievable.
