‘It’s a very rewarding job’

Zac Rada, a 2010 Scottsbluff High School graduate, always knew he wanted to have a career in which he could help people. He decided to become a police officer, and he’s now in his 7th year working as a patrol officer, a SWAT team member, and a Field Training Officer for the Scottsbluff Police Department. He said he has no desire to do anything else, for he loves helping and protecting people in the community he grew up in.

SCOTTSBLUFF – After graduating from Scottsbluff High School in 2010, Zac Rada didn’t know what he wanted to do for a career.

So, he started taking general coursework at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, and a few months later, he decided he would pursue a degree in exercise science.

He continued to contemplate what he should do with his life until he went for a walk one day and passed the criminal justice building in Lincoln. He spotted a pamphlet that contained information about becoming a game warden.

“I liked to hunt, so I thought, ‘Maybe I could do that,’” he said.
