Hemingford High School senior Carter Buchheit grew up wanting to serve in the military. He’s excited to have that opportunity in the Marine Corp.

HEMINGFORD – A couple years ago, Carter Buchheit started to think more seriously about his future after high school.
He bounced around a few ideas, like pursuing a career in engineering or perhaps even going into manufacturing.
“I wanted to do something where I could work with my hands,” said Buchheit, who’s a senior at Hemingford High School. “I also thought it would be cool to someday be my own boss.”
There was something else, however, that was weighing heavily on Buchheit’s heart – serving and protecting his country.
