Stonegate Insurance, founded in 2011 by Duane and Julie Ashenbrenner, is a family-owned agency dedicated to providing honest, caring service for farmers and ranchers across multiple states. Duane’s nearly 20 years in agriculture – first farming, then working as a crop adjuster – help give Stonegate Insurance a knowledgeable edge when helping clients plan for what best fits their unique operations.
Headquartered locally, Stonegate Insurance employs a tight-knit staff committed to serving customers. Their team includes daughter Sara Pehl, an officer who handles data entry; Office Manager Maeghann Mortimore; and Office Support specialist Allie Mekolon. In addition, three sub-agents – Kerry Marker, Terri Deines, and Joleen Marquardt – extend Stonegate’s reach. Licensed across Montana, South Dakota, Wyoming, Colorado, and Nebraska, they specialize in crop and livestock insurance as well as property and casualty coverage.
Over the years, Stonegate Insurance has received Gold and Silver awards for its Book of Business from one of its primary carriers. When not at the office, Duane and Julie spend time with their seven grandchildren, golf, take walks, cook together, and travel to the Black Hills. They also believe in supporting the community, regularly donating to local schools, 4-H, FFA, the Knights of Columbus, and various area fundraisers.
