This is an extra special year for Xtreme Dents. That’s because the business is celebrating its 25-year anniversary.
“When I first opened the business, I didn’t know how long this would last. So, it’s a good feeling knowing we’ve been around for 25 years and counting,” said the owner, Justin Schlager, who noted that he appreciates the help he receives from his wife, Heather, especially with some of the bookkeeping.
Xtreme Dents specializes in repairing hail damage, door dings, and minor dents, and it also offers window tinting and clear bra services. They use products from 3M, one of the top companies for clear bra and tint.
While Xtreme Dents has provided services for numerous customers in the Scottsbluff/Gering area, it also draws customers from throughout the Panhandle, eastern Wyoming, and northern Colorado.
Justin said he started Xtreme Dents not long after he graduated from Scottsbluff High School in 1999.
“I had some experience doing body work, and that led to me developing an interest in hail repair,” he said. “To me, the coolest thing is watching the ‘before’ and ‘after’ repair.”
For the first 10 years of running Xtreme Dents, he was a mobile company, traveling to many different locations in the United States to do hail repair. He then opened his first brick and mortar shop in Scottsbluff in 2010. In 2017, he started building the shop where he’s currently located on Broadway, and that shop opened in February 2018.
Justin said he takes pride in having a locally owned business that’s been around for 25 years. He emphasized that it’s important to use local, experienced businesses for hail repair.
“It’s important to find someone locally you can trust because if you use someone who’s not from around here and then an issue comes up with your vehicle, those people will probably be gone, and most of the time you can’t get ahold of them,” he said.
Justin said he treats every vehicle he repairs like it’s his own.
“When someone brings me their vehicle, I want to repair it to the way it looked before it got damaged,” he said. “Because of that, I’ve had a lot of happy customers who are repeat customers.”
Justin said he appreciates all of his customers, especially since their support helps him give back to the community in different ways, such as donating to the Golden Halo Foundation.
During his free time, Justin said he likes to spend time with his wife and their twin daughters, age 6. He also likes to do outdoor activities such as hunting and riding side-by-sides.
