Come along as we discover the unique characteristics behind turkeys and how they communicate with each other. This monthly homeschool program will meet at the Wildcat Hills Nature Center south of Gering. These programs will be conducted rain or shine, so be prepared for the unpredictable Nebraska weather! - Wildcat Tales: Web Walkers, 10-11 a.m. at Wildcat Hills Nature Center in Gering; Uncover secrets from our eight-legged friend, the spider. Learn about their special adaptations, wide diversity and webs they weave. Each Wildcat Tales program will include a lesson plan, story, and hands-on activity specifically targeted for early learners ages 2-6 years. - The Thanksgiving Play at Chadron State College’s Memorial Hall, 7 p.m.; The CSC Theatre Program presents The Thanksgiving Play by Larissa FastHorse at the Memorial Hall Black Box Theatre. How does one celebrate Thanksgiving and Native American Heritage Month at the same time? In Larissa FastHorse’s biting satire, this is the question facing three “woke” white thespians tasked with devising an elementary school pageant about the first Thanksgiving while avoiding any culturally appropriative missteps. A roast of the politics of entertainment and well-meaning political correctness alike, The Thanksgiving Play puts the American origin story itself in the comedy-crosshairs.
