Beulah was born February 3, 1922 in Caldwell, Kansas to Walter Edson and Grace Luvina (Posey) Gibson.  She spent most of her younger years in Wichita, Kansas, and attended elementary, junior high, high school and business college while there.

She married Carl E. Hunzeker on July 11, 1942 in a small gathering officiated by a Justice of the Peace in Wichita.  Beulah worked for Mayflower Trucking and McCormick Mathers Publishing Company while in Wichita.  Carl and Beulah moved to Falls City and began their family.  Beulah was a homemaker for most of her life, keeping the house clean and keeping up with three active boys.  She took a job as a secretary in the Richardson County Courthouse as her boys grew older.

Beulah was an amazing seamstress and took pride in her work, often making clergy shirts for her sons and other ministers.  She quilted and crocheted baby blankets and dolls, most recently sewing dolls for children and babies at Regional West Medical Center until the age of 97.  Beulah had a passion for life and deep love for her family.  She could see the hidden blessings in any situation and would enter any day with a smile and when appropriate, a laugh.

Carl and Beulah were longtime members of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Falls City.

Beulah is survived by her sons, Pastor Carl (Diane) Hunzeker of Scottsbluff, Nebraska, Pastor Dwayne (Kathleen) Hunzeker of Buffalo Gap, South Dakota and Pastor Don (Lori) Hunzeker of Minden, Nebraska; grandchildren, Stephen (Melinda) Hunzeker, William (Susan) Hunzeker, Jon (Kelli Koch) Hunzeker, Andrew Hunzeker, Katie Hunzeker, Jonathan (Andrea) Hunzeker and Nathan Hunzeker; six great grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Barbara Gibson; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
