Bob was born May 4, 1942 at Scottsbluff, Nebraska to Marvin and Thelma (Curtis) Bennett.  He attended Lake Alice School and graduated from Scottsbluff High School.  He attended college at the University at Nebraska at Lincoln.

Bob was united in marriage to Pat Reichert on May 27, 1962 at the Gering Zion Church.  He worked in the optical business for several years before he and Pat settled on the Reichert Family Farm south of Gering.

Bob was a dear husband/father/grandfather/friend.  He will be forever adored and deeply missed.  Bob loved his children and grandchildren.  Bob was a kind soul, a man a few words, but never left any doubt that he had tremendous love for Pat, their children, and grandchildren.

Bob never knew a stranger.  He made everyone feel welcome.  One of Bob’s favorite things to do was catch up with friends for a cup of coffee at Fresh Foods.  Bob was a practical joker.  Always, making those around him laugh and smile.  Bob was a member of the Jaycees, Winchester Collectors Assoc, and was an avid student of gunsmithing – attending numerous gun show events ranging from NE, WY, SD, and IL.  Bob was a great steward of the land who thoroughly enjoyed life on the farm.  He farmed for nearly 50 years at the family homestead.

Bob is survived by his wife, Pat Bennett (Reichert); 2 sons Todd (Nikki) of Viola, Illinois and Corey (Gay) of Gering, NE; 4 grandchildren Erin, Tyler, Hayden, and Shelby (Adam) Hay; mother-in-law Ruth Reichert; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Jim & Joann Loose, of Chandler AZ, Leroy & Norma Bosche of Gering NE and Bob & Becky Stitt of Minatare, NE; sister-in-law Orienne Bennett of Petaluma, CA;  Aunt Alvina Bennett of Wheatland, WY as well as several nieces and nephews.
