Chester Allen Peluso, 43, of Gering, died unexpectedly on Monday, January 24, 2022. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, February 4, 2022, at Mitchell Berean Church with Pastor Jon Simpson officiating. Cremation will follow. The United States Marines and Gering American Legion Post 36 will provide military funeral honors. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., Thursday, February 3, 2022, at Reverence Funeral Parlor in Scottsbluff. The service will be livestreamed and recorded to Chester’s obituary page viewable at www.reverencefuneralparlor.com. Memorials may be made in care of the family and will be designated at a later date.
Chester was born October 9, 1978 in Mill Hall, Pennsylvania to Vincent and Flora (Sorgenti) Peluso. He graduated from Bald Eagle Nittany High School in 1997. Chester enlisted in the United States Marine Corps following graduation. He proudly served for 12.5 years and had two deployments to Iraq during that time. He was honorably discharged in 2009.
Chester married Nickole Soto on August 11, 2007 in Nevada, Iowa. The couple later moved to Gering where they made a life together with their four children.
He received his Bachelor of Science from American Military University. Chester was employed with the United States Postal Service and was a mail carrier throughout the Scottsbluff/Gering area for the past five years.
Chester liked spending time working on his Jeep, go-karts, and rebuilding engines. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and listening to music. He was a member of the American Legion and an avid Penn State football fan. Most of all, he loved spending time with his wife, his four kids and his three dogs. Chester was a fun, energetic, goofy, and loving man.
Survivors include his wife, Nickole Peluso; children, Damien, Dominic, Marius and Mackenzie Peluso; siblings, Vonda Banker, Nicki Reese, Jennie Craft and Charles Peluso; mother, Nancy Peluso; brothers-in-law, Jeremy Soto, Roy Soto, Vince Soto, Jake Soto, Mike Banker, Walter Reese, Stephen Craft and Bobby Trujillo; sisters-in-law, Peg Peluso, Stacey Soto, Kim Soto and Keisha Trujillo; along with other extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vincent and Flora Peluso; his paternal and maternal grandparents; two uncles, Pasquale Peluso Sr. and Glen Ludwig; and father-in-law, “Jimmy” James Soto.
