Donald L. Hundley, 81, of Gering, passed away Friday, January 15, 2021 peacefully at his home. Cremation has taken place and no services will be held at this time. Donald was born in Milwaukee, WI on March 7, 1939 and was admitted to an orphanage for adoption. He was adopted by John and Henrietta Hundley and had 3 sisters by adoption; Eldora, Roberta and Joan. His biological family is Doris, Biff, Phyllis and Mary. He graduated from Cambridge High School in Cambridge, WI in 1957. He was in the National Guard and 6th Army from 1957 until 1964. He married Jan Florin and was blessed with 2 sons, Leroy and Jon. They later divorced and he married Sue Hottell and was blessed with 2 children, Donna and Andrew. They later divorced and he enjoyed a wonderful companion for over 25 years in Sandra Sauer.
Donald worked at Swift and Company and owned Hundley Fence Co. He had Windmill Hill Museum and the Rock and Antique Shop. He collected and restored 48 different windmills; many of them rare and one of a kind. He later sold them, and they are located in the American Windmill Museum in Lubbock, TX. He also enjoyed rock and fossil hunting with his family, garage sales, auctions, antiques, fishing and hunting.
Donald is survived by Sandra Sauer; children Leroy (Sheri) Hundley, Jon (Karen) Hundley, Andrew (Becky) Hundley and Donna Hundley; grandchildren Kristen, Nadine, Eric, Kenny, Nick, Miles, Jamie, Brittany and Colton; great-grandchildren Lila, Memphis, Shay, Kaylee and Jackson.
His grandson Cory Hundley preceded him in death.
