Duane P Trusty, 78, of Gering, Nebraska, passed away January 31, 2022 at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff. A Rosary will be at 5:00pm on Sunday, February 6, 2022, at Gering Memorial Chapel with a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday February, 7 at 10:30am at Christ the King Catholic Church with Father Mike McDonald officiating. Duane was born on April 11, 1943 to Philip and Katherine (Fettig) Trusty in Bismarck, North Dakota. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical engineering, and worked as a private consultant throughout Montana, North Dakota, Wyoming, Colorado, and South Dakota. Serving for 6 years on the North Dakota National Guard, he was also a proud member of the American Legion and the Knights of Columbus. He married Mary Sturn, and they made their home in Laramie, Wyoming from 1984 until 2021 when they moved to Gering to be closer to their daughter and grandchildren. He was particularly knowledgeable and passionate about history.
Survivors include his wife, Mary; daughter, Becky (Kurt) Schuller; grandchildren, Ashley (Lance) Satur of Gering, Phillip (Kimberly Snelling) of Lincoln, and Andrew of Gering; one great grandson, Blake Satur.
Preceding him in death are his parents; brothers-in-law, Tony Sturn and Rich Seeberger; and sisters-in-law, Peggy Sturn and Claire Seeberger.
