Edwina M. Carlson, age 90, died Sunday, April 3, 2022, at Kimball Health Services in Kimball. Her funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, April 15, 2022, in the Conference Room at Hampton Inn & Suites in Scottsbluff, with internment following at the East Lawn Cemetery near Minatare. Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Edwina was born at home on February 7, 1932 to Edwin and Edna (Lipe) Carlson. She was the youngest of seven children and grew up on the family farm north of Minatare. She attended elementary school at Fairview 50 and graduated from Scottsbluff High School. She worked for Scotts Bluff County District Court as a deputy district court clerk until she felt God called her to share the gospel message of Jesus Christ. She began in the ministry in July 1956 and labored in Nebraska, Wyoming, Missouri, Ohio, Iowa and Sweden. She became a resident of the Kimball County Manor Nursing Home in Kimball due to declining health in October 2014.
Edwina is survived by her sister Evelyn Olson (Broken Bow); sisters-in-law Cecel Carlson (Scottsbluff) and Jean Carlson (Fargo, ND); cousin Everett Loomis (Bayard); numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews, co-workers and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Alfred, Beryl and Vernon; sisters Alma (Sowder) Kocina and Belva (Ring) McKay; nieces Donna Smith and Shelly Carlson; and cousin Myron Loomis.
