Eva was born to Harold and Alma (Zitterkopf) Foglesong on May 4, 1952, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. Eva lived in the North Platte Valley her entire life and was active in 4-H livestock as a child and teenager. She graduated from Mitchell High School in 1970. She attended Nebraska Western College earning an Associate’s Degree in accounting. Eva was a stay-at-home mom and only went back to work after her children were all in school. She returned to working part-time and then full time, working for several businesses in the Scottsbluff area during her career, retiring from SWBC in 2018.
She married the love of her life, Dennis Strauch on March 20, 1976. Together they lived in the Mitchell area up until her death. To this union three children were born, Nichole, Kellan and Blake.
Eva was a life-long member of Salem Congregational Church of Scottsbluff, where she served as a deaconess and was involved with Sunday School and AWANA for over 25 years. She dearly loved her church and church family.
Eva loved to host big family events and enjoyed decorating the house for all of the holidays. She enjoyed planting and growing flowers and took pride in how beautiful her yard looked in the spring and summer. Spending time with her children and grandchildren was very special to her and she cherished every moment she spent with them at home or in Lincoln and Gretna. She was a red-blooded Husker fan and never missed a game, even when they struggled to win. She loved to shop and one only had to look in her several closets to see she was a serious shopper.
