OBITUARY: Felisitas P. “Lily” Blanco

Felisitas P. “Lily” Blanco, 97, passed away at home surrounded by her family on January 1, 2021.  She was born March 30, 1923 to Febronio and Guadalupe Plasencio in Eden, Texas.  The family traveled from Texas to Mitchell, Nebraska where she met and later married Antonio Blanco, Sr.

Lily was a hard worker, loved to cook and bake, garden, and work with her flowers.  She was a devoted Christian and always attended church.  She loved to be with her kids and grandchildren.  She was a grandmother to five generations.

Lily is survived by her children:  Antonio Blanco, Jr. of Loveland, CO, Sandra Montanez of Scottsbluff, NE, Frank Blanco of Mitchell, Mary (Earl) Brannon of Mitchell, Julia Blanco of Mitchell, Victor (Melanie) Blanco of Scottsbluff, Eddie Blanco of Scottsbluff, Annabel (Art) Bullard of Mitchell, and Rebecca Blanco of Mitchell; sisters:  Maria Rodriguez of Texas, Belen (Dave) Luna of Scottsbluff, and Vicky (Joe) Salazar of Gering; brothers: Febronio Plasencio of Mitchell and Victor Plasencio of Wyoming; 50 grandchildren; 100 great-grandchildren; numerous great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Lily was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 brothers, 1 sister, daughters Aurora Morales and Alice Eureste, sons Daniel Plasencio and Abel Plasencio, and great-granddaughter Heather Guerrero.

A private family viewing will be held.  Her prayer service will be at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2021 and her funeral service at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 both at the New Hope Assembly of God Church in Mitchell with Pastor Autumn Holt officiating.  Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Scottsbluff.  A memorial can be made in memory of Lily Blanco to the New Hope Assembly of God Church.  Online condolences may be left at www.dugankramer.com
