Frank Wooden of Scottsbluff

Frank Wooden, age 83, of Scottsbluff, Nebraska, died February 16, 2022 at Regional West Medical Center. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at 10:00am at Dugan Kramer Funeral Chapel with Pastor Al Wilson officiating. Inurnment will take place later in the spring. Frank was born August 14, 1938 in Scottsbluff to Sam and Ruby (Gravatt) Wooden and he received his early education there, graduating from Scottsbluff High School in 1957. He married Sharon Carmody on November 2, 1958, and they made their home in Scottsbluff. They were married for 63 blissful years. He worked for the Star Herald for 47 years and retired in 2002. 

He was a member of the 23 Club and served as their Commissioner. He was very proud to be a Free Mason as part of the Robert W. Furnas Lodge, having served as Worshipful Master, in addition to the Shriners, where he was a past president. His friends were greatly appreciated and he loved his family dearly, attending all of the events for his children and grandchildren. Baseball was a favored pastime and he never missed an opportunity to watch Nebraska sports, but also cheered on the Denver Broncos and Nuggets, and he enjoyed watching the Olympics.  

Survivors include his wife, Sharon; son, Greg (Judy); daughters, Cyndee (Lisa) and Julie; grandchildren, Melissa, Bryan (Brooke), Stephanie (Zach), and Natalie (Schyler); numerous great-grandchildren; brother, Gary; sister, Rosanne; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Ruby; in-laws, Alvin and Bernice Carmody; brother, Ronny; and sister, Dorothy.
